Prep highlights: Seton Catholic boys soccer pulls away from La Center

Elijah Wall scored twice to power a four-goal outburst in the second half as Seton Catholic boys soccer beat La Center 5-0 on Thursday.

Wall set up Sam Soto’s goal to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead that they took into halftime.

Brady Angelo assisted on two second half goals — Wall’s first and a goal by Tegan Patracca that gave Seton Catholic a 3-0 lead.

The win keeps Seton Catholic (9-1-1, 7-1-0) in first place atop the Class 1A Trico League with 21 points. The Cougars entered Thursday tied with Columbia-White Salmon.

Isaac Roller made 11 saves for La Center (3-9, 3-6)

Stars of the day

  • Rylee Rehbein, Battle Ground softball, went 3 for 3 with two home runs, a double and five RBI in a 13-0 win over Mountain View.
  • Zoey Hughes, Battle Ground softball, went 2 for 3 with a grand slam in a 13-0 win over Mountain View.
  • Elijah Andersen, Woodland boys track and field, won the 100 meters, 400 meters and ran on the winning 400 relay team in a meet against Fort Vancouver and R.A. Long.
  • Fatou Bojang, Fort Vancouver girls track and field, won the 100 meters, 200 meters, triple jump and ran on the winning 400 relay team in a meet against Woodland and R.A. Long.
  • Ella Kim, Camas girls golf, scored a match-high 42 points in a Stableford format as the Papermakers totaled 120 points against Prairie and Kelso.
  • Madison Ruddy, Ridgefield girls track and field, won the long jump, triple jump, 100 hurdles and was on the winning 400 relay team in a meet against Mark Morris and Hockinson.
