Mocktails and music
The Covington House Heritage Society will host an open house from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at 4201 Main St., Vancouver, with live music by Celtic harpist Gini O’Flynn. Guests are invited to buy mocktails from Marie’s Personable Bartending and play board games. The Covington House is also open on the first and third Thursdays of each month from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. On third Thursdays, the heritage society hosts genealogy workshops. At 2 p.m. Saturday, the Kiggins Theatre, 1011 Main St., Vancouver, will present the regional premiere of “Ithaka,” the award-winning documentary about efforts to free WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange from prison. The screening will include an appearance from Assange’s father, John Shipton, as well as the film’s director, the Australian photographer and filmmaker Ben Lawrence. Friberg-Strunk St., Camas, presents “Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic” with performances at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday as well as April 21 and 22. This play, a feisty retelling of the adventures of a well-known lighting-scarred wizard, presents events from the viewpoint of the less-celebrated students at a legendary school of wizardry.
