Washington Columbia River mainstem, tributary fishing report for April 3-10

The Columbia River mainstem and tributary sport fishing sampling summary for the week of April 3-10:

Mainstem Columbia River

SALMON/STEELHEAD

Sec 1 (Bonneville) — 182 bank anglers kept nine Chinook, released five Chinook and one steelhead.

Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) — Four bank anglers had no catch; one boat/one rod had no catch.

Sec 3 (Interstate 5 area) — Four boats/eight rods had no catch.

Sec 4 (Vancouver) — 56 bank anglers kept one Chinook; 90 boats/196 rods kept three Chinook and released one Chinook.

Sec 5 (Woodland) — 25 bank anglers released one steelhead; 42 boats/84 rods kept one Chinook and released one Chinook.

Sec 6 (Kalama) — 51 bank anglers had no catch; 53 boats/119 rods kept three Chinook.

Sec 7 (Cowlitz) — 15 boats/42 rods had no catch.

Sec 8 (Longview) — 42 bank anglers kept one Chinook; 238 boats/530 rods kept 34 Chinook and released six Chinook.

Sec 9 (Cathlamet) — 33 bank anglers kept one Chinook and released one steelhead; 18 boats/41 rods kept 4 Chinook and one steelhead.

Sec 10 (Cathlamet) — 110 boats/257 rods kept 42 Chinook and released seven Chinook.

Columbia River tributaries

SALMON/STEELHEAD

Cowlitz River from Interstate 5 bridge downstream — 29 bank rods kept one steelhead and released one steelhead.

Cowlitz River above I-5 bridge — 19 bank rods kept one Chinook and five steelhead and released two steelhead; four boats/14 rods kept five steelhead and released one steelhead.

Lewis River — One bank rod with no catch; one boat/one rod no catch.

Recent trout plants

April 6

Mayfield Reservoir — 5,400 rainbow trout, 2.70 fish per pound from Mossyrock Hatchery.

Kress Lake — 3,500 rainbow trout, 2.90 fish per pound from Mossyrock Hatchery.

Horseshoe Lake — 4,000 rainbow trout, 2.90 fish per pound from Mossyrock Hatchery.

April 10

Rowland Lake — 6,000 rainbow trout, 2.50 fish per pound from Goldendale Hatchery.

Lacamas Lake — 6,000 rainbow trout, 2.10 fish per pound from Vancouver Hatchery.

Horsethief Lake — 3,000 rainbow trout, 2.42 fish per pound from Goldendale Hatchery.
