Two people were injured late Sunday afternoon when their car left state Highway 503, or Lewis River Road, and struck a fence.

A 2003 Infiniti G35 was traveling south shortly after 5:30 p.m. when it left the roadway at Milepost 51, according to a Washington State Patrol crash memo.

The driver, a 17-year-old boy from Woodland, was injured and taken to PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center in Longview. His passenger, identified as Aureliano Orihuela, 25, city of residence unknown, was also injured and taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, the crash memo states.

Troopers said they believe alcohol or drugs were involved and referred a charge of vehicular assault against the teen.
