Skyview scored touchdowns on five of its first seven plays on offense, rolling over Heritage 51-0 in a non-league game Friday at Kiggins Bowl.
Emmett Stein had two interceptions, including a 27-yard pick-six that gave the Storm a 44-0 lead with 2:01 left in the first quarter. Stein also blocked a field goal attempt.
Gavin Packer had a 42-yard touchdown run on Skyview’s first play from scrimmage. Another six players each found the end zone in the first half, which ended with Skyview (4-1) ahead 51-0.
The teams agreed to let the running-clock mercy rule start in the first quarter, once Skyview’s lead surpassed 40 points, instead of traditionally having it take effect in the second half. Heritage (0-5) has been outscored 255-13 this season.
