Quarterback Mitch Johnson threw for 319 yards and four touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough as the Thunder lost to Hanford 34-28 in a nonleague game in North Richland to the 3A Falcons.

Hanford, which earned its first victory over the year, rushed the ball 53 times for 216 yards and three touchdowns. Its defense sacked Johnson twice on Mountain View’s final possession of the fourth quarter trailing by six.

Receiver Aiden Nicholson had four catches for 153 yards and two touchdowns. Nicholson’s touchdown to open the third quarter gave Mountain View a 21-20 lead.

The Thunder (2-2) open 3A Greater St. Helens League play next week against Evergreen.
