A man was shot Sunday night after an argument in a parking lot at a west Vancouver apartment complex.

Vancouver police responded at 6:20 p.m. to the Arnada Pointe Apartments, 4820 N.E. Hazel Dell Ave., for reports of a disturbance with a weapon.

When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound. They began treating him, including applying a chest seal, until paramedics arrived to take him to an area hospital, according to a police news release.

Authorities did not release the victim’s name. His condition was not immediately known.

Witnesses told police that two men sitting inside a car were involved in some type of physical altercation, the police department said.

A man exited the passenger’s side of the car, reached back inside and shot the man sitting in the driver’s seat, according to the news release. He then left the area.

Officers attempted to track him with K-9s but did not find him, police said.

Vancouver police’s Major Crimes Unit is continuing to investigate.
