Seton Catholic demonstrated how well it could execute on both sides of the ball against in the Cougars’ 46-15 non-league win over Life Christian Academy of Tacoma on Friday.

Seton Catholic scored four times in the opening quarter and had a running clock in effect midway through the second.

Quarterback Kolton Gesser threw for over 100 yards in the first quarter and ended with 194 on 14 of 17 completions.

Gesser connected with Ryker Ruelas for 79 yards and two touchdowns. Jacob Williams would carry the ground game with eight rushes for 88 yards and three TDs on his birthday.

“It’s amazing to see how this team has bonded and how far we’ve come together,” Gesser said. “Our offense is amazing, and our defense is really picking up too.”

The Cougars’ defense held the Eagles to negative yardage in the first quarter while getting four turnovers via interceptions, fumble recoveries and blocked punts.

“This team has been through the ringer.” Seton head coach Dennis Herling said. “Going through those tough seasons where we had freshman playing up to varsity is really starting to show as they get older. We have so much skill and now experience, so having those tough seasons has really built these guys up to make a shot at getting that league title this year.”
