Clark Asks: Do you have questions for congressional candidates Perez or Kent?

As the November general election nears, Southwest Washington voters must determine whether they want to throw their support behind Democrat Marie Gluesenkamp Perez or Republican Joe Kent for the 3rd Congressional District.

But who are they?

Perez, an auto repair shop owner, positions herself as an advocate for the working class with a mission to bolster the region’s economy. Kent, a former Green Beret, declared that he will dismantle “the establishment” and Democrats’ hold in federal politics.

Both candidates are sharpening their campaign strategies and tapping into their dedicated bases, yet not all voters in the region may have even heard their names.

Regardless of your familiarity with Perez and Kent, or lack thereof, what questions do you have for the candidates?

Where do they stand on mail-in voting? What would their top priorities be after taking office? What will they do to address climate change? How will they boost struggling economies?

Visit www.columbian.com/clark-asks to send us your questions, and we’ll report what we find out leading up to the Nov. 8 general election.
