Petty Officer Third Class Kevin White, a native of Woodland and 2020 graduate of La Center High School, serves the U.S. Navy assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron 106 in support of the FA-18 Super Hornet. After joining the Navy one year ago, White now serves as an aviation electrician’s mate.

“My father and grandfather inspired me to join the Navy,” said White. “My father encouraged me to serve in the military because of the benefits available. My grandfather served as a senior chief in the Navy.”

Hospital Corpsman First Class Kendal Swenson, from Vancouver, talks with a young member of the community during the 17th annual Pacific Partnership 2022 Solomon Islands opening ceremony at Unity Square.
