New R.A. Long quarterback Aizik Rothwell threw three first-half touchdown passes, but Franklin Pierce’s rushing attack wore down the Lumberjacks in the Cardinals’ 40-21 non-league on Friday.

Rothwell threw two touchdown passes TreMayne Jenkins and one to Shaun Mize, last week’s starting quarterback, as R.A. Long led 21-16 at halftime.

But Franklin Pierce’s run-heavy offense wore down the smaller Lumberjacks in the second half.

R.A. Long (0-2) plays Hudson’s Bay at Kiggins Bowl next Friday in the 2A Greater St. Helens League opener for both teams.
