A new biopic examining the life of Elvis Presley tops the DVD releases for the week of Sept. 13.

“Elvis”: A wild, manic, chopped-and-screwed look at the life of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll from director Baz Luhrmann, starring Austin Bulter as Presley and Tom Hanks as his manager, Colonel Tom Parker.

“ ‘Elvis’ isn’t just a reinvigoration of the Elvis myth, it’s a resurrection of the King himself,” writes Tribune News Service critic Katie Walsh in her review. “Left the building? Not if Baz Luhrmann has anything to say about it.”
