Seton Catholic’s Jacob Williams is the 2022 Week 9 prep football player of the week

Voting continues through 7 p.m. Wednesday

Jacob Williams of Seton Catholic is The Columbian 2022 Week 9 high school football player of the week.

Williams received 800 votes to outdistance Washougal’s Holden Bea for the weekly honor.

The sophomore running back rushed for 182 yards on 12 carries and four touchdowns in a win over King’s Way Christian.

Winners of the player-of-the-week may not be nominated again during the regular season, and no player may be nominated in consecutive weeks.

Five new nominees and the ballot get posted each Monday, with voting continuing through Wednesday.

Here are the other Week 9 nominees:

HOLDEN BEA, WASHOUGAL: The junior quarterback completed 20 of 25 passes for 295 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 135 yards and three TDs in a win over Hockinson.

MITCH JOHNSON, MOUNTAIN VIEW: The senior quarterback completed 21 of 29 passes for 276 yards and three touchdowns to rally the Thunder to a 45-44 win over Richland.

CONNER NOAH, KELSO: The senior running back rushed for 165 yards on 33 carries and three touchdowns in an overtime win over Evergreen.

JALEN SALAVEA, SKYVIEW: The senior linebacker had a fumble recovery, interception and four tackles to lead the defense in a playoff-clinching win over Union.
