Locations across Southwest Washington will be accepting unused and expired prescriptions from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

In Clark County, community members are encouraged to bring their medications to the following sites for free and safe disposal:

  • PeaceHealth Southwest Urgent Care, 33rd and Main streets (south back lot), Vancouver.
  • Kaiser Permanente Orchards, 7101 N.E. 137th Ave., Vancouver.
  • Battle Ground Police Department, 507 S.W. First St., Battle Ground.
  • Washougal Police Department, 1320 A St., Washougal.
  • Cowlitz Indian Tribal Public Safety Department, 31501 N.W. 31st Ave., Ridgefield.

“Simple steps like properly disposing of medications at a take-back event, at a year-round disposal kiosk or mail-back program, can help prevent misuse and overall decrease the spread of the opioid problem we are seeing in our region and across the country,” Kelley Groen-Sieckmann, community prevention project coordinator with Central Vancouver Coalition and ESD 112, said in a press release.
