Joe Callerame of Seton Catholic is The Columbian 2022 Week 8 high school football player of the week.
Callerame received 462 votes to beat Camas’ Trenton Swanson.
Callerame rushed for 94 yards and two TDs, caught two passes for 64 yards and a score and a 62-yard interception return for a TD in a win over Fort Vancouver.
Winners of the player-of-the-week may not be nominated again during the regular season, and no player may be nominated in consecutive weeks.
Five new nominees and the ballot will be posted each Monday, with voting continuing through Wednesday.

JOHN CHARLES, HOCKINSON: Charles caught six passes for 144 yards and two TDs, had a touchdown run and an 80-yard kickoff return for a score in a win over Hudson’s Bay.
JAKE KENNEDY, SKYVIEW: The junior quarterback passed for 202 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 87 yards and two more scores in three quarters of action in a win over Battle Ground.
TRENTON SWANSON, CAMAS: The junior caught four passes for 83 yards, had a fumble recovery, an interception and a 52-yard punt in a win over Union.
ADAM WATTS, COLUMBIA RIVER: The senior quarterback passed for 335 yards and rushed for 53 yards and three touchdowns in a loss to Washougal.
