A man was fatally shot and a woman was wounded Thursday night in the area of Mill Plain Boulevard and Northeast Chkalov Drive.

Vancouver police responded at about 7 p.m. to reports of a disturbance with a weapon. When officers arrived, they found a woman with a gunshot wound to her hand and a man who was dead, according to a police news release.

The wounded woman was taken to an area hospital for treatment, police said.

Authorities have not released what proceeded the shooting or the identities of the victims.
