Clark County Assessor’s Office starts property revaluations

Clark County residents may soon notice appraisers from the Clark County Assessor’s Office in their neighborhoods.

In preparation for establishing the county’s 2023 assessed value of real property, appraisers began performing physical inspections of residential and commercial property on Thursday and will continue the work through February 2023.

By law, the county assessor is required to inspect and revalue approximately one-sixth of real property in Clark County each year.

Property owners may see appraisers in marked county vehicles reviewing their property or neighbor’s property for updates and changes since the last physical inspection. Appraisers also may take a picture of the property to update county records. Residential appraisers normally do not leave their vehicles during revaluation inspections, the Assessor’s Office said in a press release.

Appraisers may have questions about changes if the property owner is available or may leave a door hanger if contact is needed, the release said.
