Is it too early for me to celebrate autumn? I ask this because the calendar says that autumn officially started on Sept. 22, but the weather continues to have a definite summer vibe. Well, I’m going to be the cheerleader for fall regardless of the temperature. Two, four, six, eight, what do I appreciate? It’s autumn, yeah, yeah, it’s autumn.
Alrighty then, here’s to everything fall — pumpkinty-boo! There is so much to love about this season, and I nerd out whenever the calendar turns to October. For one thing, Mother Nature sure knows how to exit stage left, so to speak, with a brilliant palette of yellows, reds and oranges. You go, girl! Then of course, I have to mention the pumpkins. No matter your pumpkin acquisition preference — store-bought or fresh-picked — these prolific orange orbs are everywhere! There is no doubt about their ability to pumpkin-up my autumn enthusiasm. No pun-kin intended.
When daytime temperatures are still fairly warm, it may be difficult to get excited about comfort food and cozy clothing. But cooler days and nights are quickly approaching — something I look forward to — so my perfect autumn-themed reading list includes books about comfort food, hot tea and warm and fuzzy attire.
