Week 6 prep football highlights: Reid Tennant leads Camas over Evergreen 42-14

Look out, 4A Greater St. Helens League. The Camas Papermakers are rolling with confidence heading into league play.

“We’re going to for sure win these next three games. For sure,” junior running back Reid Tennant said. “I have confidence.

There is reason for that confidence. Tennant rushed for 175 yards and three touchdowns as Camas beat Evergreen 42-14 for the Papermakers’ third consecutive win.

Mountain View 37, Prairie 27

Mountain View got back to basics, establishing a strong running game and then striking quickly with long passes in a 37-27 win. The win ensures the Thunder (3-3, 1-1) maintain control of their postseason destiny in the five-team race for the 3A GSHL’s two postseason berths.

Mark Morris 20, Ridgefield 7

Mark Morris’ defense kept Ridgefield off the scoreboard until the fourth quarter, posting a key 20-7 win over the Spudders in a 2A Greater St. Helens League game in Longview.

Ridgefield outgained the Monarch 301-223, but the Monarchs got two key interceptions to spark their victory.

Castle Rock 29, Seton Catholic 6

Stephen Ibsen rushed for a touchdown and threw a touchdown pass in the first quarter, and the Castle Rock defense did the rest in a 29-6 Trico League win at Castle Rock.

Columbia River had the game all but wrapped up by the end of the first half as the Rapids took care of the Hockinson Hawks 34-7 in a 2A Greater St. Helens League game Friday at John O’Rourke Field.

Stanwood 69, Union 47

Apart from taking a knee to end the first half, Stanwood scored on its first nine possessions Friday to beat Union in a wild game at McKenzie Stadium 69-47. Stanwood’s wing-T offense gave Union fits as the Spartans rushed for 484 yards and eight touchdowns.

King’s Way Christian 32, Columbia-White Salmon 7

Ryan Charlton rushed 18 times for 175 yards and two touchdowns as King’s Way Christian picked up a 32-7 Trico League victory Friday over the Columbia Bruins at White Salmon.

Woodland 52, R.A. Long 21

Elijah Andersen, the county’s third-leading rusher entering Friday’s game, rushed for 195 yards and four touchdowns and added 64 yards receiving as the Woodland Beavers trounced the R.A. Long Lumberjacks 52-21 in a 2A Greater St. Helens League football contest.

Washougal’s duo of quarterback Holden Bea and running back Liam Atkin would lead the offensive brigade for the Panthers (5-1) in their 40-6 rout of Hudson’s Bay (2-4) in a 2A GSHL matchup Friday at Fishback Stadium.
