Washougal’s duo of quarterback Holden Bea and running back Liam Atkin would lead the offensive brigade for the Panthers (5-1) in their 40-6 rout of Hudson’s Bay (2-4) in a 2A GSHL matchup Friday at Fishback Stadium.
Bea would end the game hitting four different receivers for a total of 196 passing yards and four touchdowns, while Atkin had 85 of those receiving yards plus an additional 132 yards on the ground from 11 carries to go with his three scores on the night.
“I think when people saw that we beat Ridgefield, they might have thought it was a fluke, but winning like this tonight shows that we’re here and that our offense can pick defenses apart,” Bea said.
Washougal (5-1) started the game with a heavy run offense behind Atkin before opening the passing game and letting Bea display what he can do under center.
