Pumpkins and Potter

Shops in downtown Camas will display decorated pumpkins as costumed Harry Potter fans fill the streets 5-8 p.m. on October’s First Friday. Festivities include voting for the People’s Pumpkin award, free crafts, art shows, games like Catch the Snitch and indoor Quidditch, after-hours shopping, live music and an all-ages Harry Potter costume contest at 7 p.m.; sign up at Journey Church by 6:45 p.m. Attend a ribbon-cutting at 5 p.m. for Bookish, an independent children’s and young adult bookstore at 335 N.E. Lederhosen and lager

ilani Casino Resort, 1 Cowlitz Way, Ridgefield, invites everyone to grab a stein for its inaugural Oktoberfest celebration, Friday through Sunday. Choose from hundreds of German brews and sample foods from bratwurst to sauerkraut. The O’Zapft Dinner at Rose & Thorn is 7-9 p.m. on Friday for $54 per person. The Biergarten will be open from 1-5 p.m. Oct. 8 and 9 on the ilani garage rooftop. Tickets are $44 per person for the Saturday event and $31 for the Sunday event. Designated driver tickets are $10. Don’t bring the kids

Vancouver Elks 823 presents Nightmares on Elk Street Haunted House at 11605 S.E. McGillivray Blvd., Vancouver, open from 7-11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 6-9 p.m. Sundays in October. This is the scariest haunted house yet, a 20- to 30-minute walk-through with blood and gore, visual and auditory frights, strobe lights and fog machines. It is not recommended for those with epilepsy, asthma, heart issues or who are pregnant. Do not bring children younger than 13. Parking is free. Flying fingers

The Terry Robb Trio will perform at Old Liberty Theater, 115 N. Main Ave., Ridgefield, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The celebrated blues trio features internationally acclaimed fingerstyle guitarist and Oregon Music Hall of Fame inductee Terry Robb on guitar along with Gary Hobbs on drums and Dave Captein on bass.
