How Clark County College Football Players Fared, Oct. 1

Next generation of local kickers, punters make impact

Clark County has a tradition of kickers and punters making an impact at the next level.

Andrew Boyle (Camas) has taken over full-time kickoff duties for the University of Oregon. The junior, who transfered from Washington State, has 17 touchbacks in 26 kickoffs this season for the No. 12-ranked Ducks.

At the FCS level, Bryce Leighton (Camas) is handling punting duties for No. 4 Montana State. He’s averaging 41.3 yards per punt with a long of 65 and just three touchbacks in 15 attempts.

Jude Mullette (Mountain View) is handling placekicking duties for Central Washington. He’s 6 for 7 in field goal attempts with a long of 45 yards. He is also-15 for 15 in extra points.

Alex Koga (Union) is perfect thus far for Lewis and Clark, making 4 of 4 field goals and all 14 extra-point attempts. The senior was honorable-mention all-conference last season.

Clark County has typically seen its top kicking talent at the placekicker position.

There’s Rian Lindell, a Mountain View grad who kicked 14 years in the NFL. There’s Erik Powell, a Seton Catholic grad who was among the nation’s top placekickers in 2017 for Washington State. There’s also Roldan Alcobendas, a Camas grad who earned the Fred Mitchell Award, given to the nation’s top FCS placekicker, while at Eastern Washington in 2018.

Here’s how other collegiate football players from Clark County fared. Note: A blank entry means the player’s team had a bye week.
