Democrat Marie Gluesenkamp Perez maintained her narrow lead over Republican Joe Kent in the race to represent Washington’s 3rd Congressional District.

Wednesday’s results showed Perez had 158,689 votes, or 50.21 percent, and Kent had 155,610 votes, or 49.23 percent. She leads Kent by 3,079 votes. There are 2,006 remaining votes to count across six of the district’s seven counties, with an undetermined amount coming from its portion of Thurston County.

A large chunk of remaining ballots come from Clark County, which has 1,700 left to tabulate.

Cowlitz County, which had an estimated 100 remaining ballots following its Tuesday count, did not provide its update by the time of this report.

Thurston County will release its next batch of updates at 5 p.m. today, and Clark County will post its update at 3 p.m. Friday. All other counties won’t report until Nov. 28 or Nov. 29, the latter being the date the election will be certified.
