The Community Military Appreciation Committee in partnership with Patriot Guard Riders hosted a memorial Monday for U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Cedric E. Bruns, who was killed May 9, 2003, in Kuwait.

Event organizers and participants gathered around noon at the Fort Vancouver Barracks to honor the soldier as a part of a “Never To Be Forgotten” series.

The memorial series honors the anniversary of the deaths of Clark County soldiers who served overseas since Sept. 11, 2001. It began in 2018 and hosts memorials every three years for those who died during their military service.
