A man who escaped from a state prison in Salem, Ore., last month was arrested Tuesday evening by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Bohanna McQuiston, 40, appeared on a fugitive from justice warrant Wednesday in Clark County Superior Court. He is being held without bail in the Clark County Jail until he returns to the custody of the Oregon Department of Corrections, court records show.

McQuiston was last seen around 6 a.m. Feb. 16, before he walked away from a laundry sorting facility at the Oregon State Penitentiary, according to an Oregon Department of Corrections news release. He was sent Jan. 11, 2021, to the Santiam Correctional Institution in Salem for three counts of burglary. His earliest scheduled release date was Feb. 6, 2024.
