WOODLAND — Second-grade students at North Fork Elementary School held a “Two-Tuesday” Parade in recognition of a unique date: Feb. 22, 2022 (or 2/22/22 when abbreviated).

Second graders created hats in recognition of the date, participated in classroom scavenger hunts where they identified the number of “twos” in a room, and spent a few minutes at the end of the school day parading through the school.

Teacher Amy Craig came up with the idea to use a unique opportunity to further reinforce concepts of time and date. “While not necessarily a significant date in terms of history, dates like these are quite rare, especially since my students are in second grade, another ‘two,’” she said. “By studying this unique date, students work on developing their time and date skills while also becoming more aware of patterns and outliers.”
