I have to tell you that pesky weather system kept the light rain going most of the night Tuesday into early Wednesday morning. It appears the light rain stopped around 5 or 6 a.m. Wednesday and skies eventually cleared.
With clear skies and light winds forecasted, I expected early morning low temperatures Wednesday morning in Clark County to be well into the 20s. Vancouver’s record low for today is 24 degrees, set only three years ago in 2019. That is way crazy cold for March. We need to snap out of this.
Today, we do attempt to warm up a bit with lows in the morning near freezing. It should be partly to mostly sunny with perhaps some highs clouds in the afternoon. Yep, that signals a change in the offing.
I think we survive with another partly sunny day on Friday and a day with a seasonal high temperature finally with rain holding off until Saturday. Then the faucet is on all weekend and well into next week.
I don’t think we will have major flooding issues, but March didn’t like how wet February exited so now it is its turn.
At least snow will fall in the mountains, but our high temperatures will slip back to the low 50s. Expect breezy conditions at times the next five days or so. On the plus side, with clouds and rain, no freezing temperatures overnight.
Our monthly rainfall as of 4 p.m. Wednesday was 1.05 inches in Vancouver, about an inch below average. No worries, as I mentioned above. More is on the way. It has been chilly this month with only one day getting close to normal and that was the first day of the month with 56 degrees. We only made it to 53 degrees on Wednesday. Yeah, I’m wearing my winter jacket although when out in the direct sunshine out of the wind it is a bit too warm. That’s spring for you.
We’ll chat on Sunday. Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead.
