After a multiyear renovation, IHG Hotels & Resorts announced Wednesday the grand opening of its Holiday Inn Portland-Columbia Riverfront. The hotel is located on Hayden Island, overlooking Vancouver’s waterfront at the site of what was most recently known as the Red Lion Hotel on the River-Jantzen Beach, just east of the Interstate 5 Bridge.
The building at 909 N. Hayden Island Drive in Portland, was originally built in 1978. Before it was a Red Lion, it was known as the Doubletree Hotel-Jantzen Beach.
The hotel has 320 rooms with attached balconies, some of which offer views of the Columbia River, Mount Hood and Mount St. Helens. It has undergone a $15 million renovation, giving it comfortable guest rooms, new amenities and other enhancements.
The Holiday Inn is also home to a new restaurant and bar, Jantzen Beach Bar & Grill, as well as 41,000 square feet of meeting spaces and a guest-accessible boat dock.
