Christine Hayes was appointed as Clark County Superior Court’s newest commissioner, filling Carin Schienberg’s seat, the county announced Monday.
Schienberg’s last day is Friday, and Hayes will start April 4.
Hayes has most recently served as the Battle Ground city attorney and has many years of family law experience, according to a county news release. She’s been a member of the Washington State Bar since 2012 and has practiced since 2013. She graduated from Mountain View High School, Western Washington University and Gonzaga University School of Law.
Schienberg announced her retirement Jan. 28. She began as a part-time commissioner in 1997 and became full time in 2003.
