Try This: Camas Car Show, Gorge Blues & Brews Festival, Art Night

Vroom vroom

The 15th annual Camas Car Show, a fundraiser for the Inter-Faith Treasure House Food Bank, will be from 3-8 p.m. Saturday in downtown Camas. The free event includes awards, raffles, live music and food. Bring nonperishable food items to get a free raffle ticket. It’s $15 to enter a car and no registration is necessary. The first 100 cars to register get goodie bags. The first 250 cars get dash plaques. Get details at downtowncamas.com or call 360-904-0218.

Local treasures

At 11 a.m. Saturday, The Angora Hiking Club will host a tour of the art and treasures in the Proto-Cathedral of St. James the Greater, 218 W. 12th St., Vancouver. After the tour, bring a packed lunch to the picnic tables at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site, 1001 E. Fifth St. At 1 p.m., a park ranger will lead a tour of Fort Vancouver. Lakes and larks

Battle Ground Lake State Park staff and volunteers will host a series of free Summer Saturday Interpretive Programs for adults and kids at Battle Ground Lake State Park, 18002 N.E. 249th St., Battle Ground. Learn about “Birds of Battle Ground Lake State Park” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. A Discover Pass is required for parking or purchase a $10 day pass at the gate. Attendees are encouraged to bring folding chairs and flashlights. The next program will be on Aug. 27.

Paints, pencils and pals

Vancouver Art Space hosts the Creative Club Community Art Night 5-7:30 p.m. Friday in its Vancouver Mall location, 8700 N.E. Vancouver Mall Drive, Suite 283. Meet other artists ages 15 and up and create art together in a supportive, well-lit environment with plenty of table space and easels. Artists should bring their own supplies. Art Night attendees also receive 20 percent off in-store art supply purchases. The cost is $15 per person. Learn more at vancouverartspace.com

Brews, blues and views

The Gorge Blues & Brews Festival is Friday and Saturday at the Skamania County Fairgrounds, 710 S.W. Rock Creek Drive, Stevenson. Enjoy live blues music and panoramic Columbia Gorge views with 35 cold beer taps, four wineries, a distillery, cocktails and food trucks. Hours are 5-10 p.m. Friday and 2-10 p.m. Saturday. A “locals pass” for Friday is $5. A “brewer’s pass” is $22 for two days. Learn more at gorgeblues.com.
