Raptors go 3-2 on first road trip of season

Logan Gibson scored from second base on a one-out single in the bottom of the ninth to hand the Raptors a loss Sunday on Vancouver Island. Though Ridgefield dropped two of three against the Nighthawks, the Raptors went 3-2 on their first Canadian road trip of the season.

KEY MOMENTS: Isaac Lovings singled with two outs in the third to drive in Stephen Espinoza and give the Raptors a 1-0 lead. … Mikey Kane singled to drive in Riley McCarthy and give Ridgefield a 3-0 lead in the fourth. … Isaac Kim hit a two-run homer in the fourth to pull Nanaimo within 3-2. … Dylan Joyce tied the game with a two-out RBI single in the seventh.

KEY PLAYERS: Brothers Mikey and Doyle Kane each had two hits for Ridgefield.

NEXT GAME: Edmonton (4-8) at Ridgefield (5-3), 6:35 p.m. Tuesday.
