Letter: Horch is best choice for sheriff

By Ann Laurier, Vancouver
Published: June 7, 2022, 6:00am

Please vote for John Horch for sheriff. He is the best person to lead our county and has the experience, understanding and communication skills to get things done. As chief criminal deputy, he oversees enforcement operations that include all patrol deputies. He holds a degree in organizational leadership and graduated from the FBI Academy at Quantico, Va.

David Shook has only been with the sheriff’s office two years, an insufficient time to understand how the office works or have an understanding of the issues. Rey Reynolds, after 30 years with the Vancouver Police Department, still held the entry supervisor rank of corporal and has no administrative experience.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
