Woodland Public Schools has hired Russell Evans as principal of Woodland Middle School beginning in the 2022-23 school year. Evans accepted the position on May 24. Evans currently serves as the principal of North Beach Middle/High School in Ocean Shores. He started his career in education as a geography and U.S. history teacher in Houston and served in a variety of administrative roles including career and technical education director and assistant principal.

The Ridgefield School District has hired Ian Mansfield as its newest administrator. Mansfield will serve as the principal at View Ridge Middle School, succeeding Tony Smith, who has accepted a position with the Longview School District. Mansfield is currently an associate principal at Skyview High School, where he has worked since 2019. In his role as associate principal, Mansfield has helped lead the special education and English learners programs, oversaw the Associated Student Body and student clubs and activities, and led the school’s multi-tiered system of supports programs.
