The Washington State Patrol is seeking witnesses to a fatal hit-and-run Thursday morning on Interstate 205 north of Vancouver.

Detectives are asking anyone who drove through the area of I-205 at Milepost 35 between midnight and 12:45 a.m. and has a dash camera to review their footage and provide any video of the vehicle that left the crash scene.

Jerry R. Bolland, 42, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, was changing a tire on his white 1998 Pontiac Bonneville when a driver veered toward the shoulder and struck him, according to the State Patrol. Troopers responded to the crash at 12:32 a.m., and a crash memo states the driver who hit Bolland was gone.

Bolland was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, where he died from his injuries, the State Patrol said.

Detectives do not have a description of the vehicle that struck Bolland.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sgt. Justin Maier at 360-449-7941 or justin.maier@wsp.wa.gov.
