An Idaho man was killed in a hit-and-run Thursday morning while he was changing a flat tire on the shoulder of Interstate 205 north of Vancouver.

Jerry R. Bolland, 42, from Idaho Falls, was outside of his vehicle at Milepost 35 at 12:32 a.m. when a driver drifted into the shoulder and struck him, according to a Washington State Patrol crash memo.

Bolland was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, and did not survive.

The driver who struck Bolland did not stop, the crash memo states. Investigators do not have any vehicle information.

The crash remains under investigation.
