A Wednesday morning kitchen fire displaced residents of a house in central Vancouver.

The Vancouver Fire Department responded at about 8:30 a.m. to 6410 N.E. 32nd St. Crews arrived to a single-story house with smoke coming from the sliding back patio door, according to an agency news release.

Firefighters pulled a hose line to the kitchen area and extinguished the fire, while others searched the house for any occupants, the fire department said.

The fire was under control within a few minutes, and no one was injured, the news release states.

The occupants’ church is helping them find somewhere to live.

Twenty fire department personnel were on scene, including four engines, a ladder truck and a battalion chief.

The Vancouver Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause.
