Camas Parks and Recreation will once again host its popular — and free — outdoor Movies in the Park program, beginning at 8:45 p.m. Aug. 5, with the showing of “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

A new movie will be shown each Friday in August at Crown Park, near the intersection of Northeast 17th Avenue and Everett Street.

Show time begins at dusk, and all movies are family-friendly. Pre-movie activities begin one hour prior to show time.

This year’s movie lineup includes:

  • Aug. 5: “Guardians of the Galaxy,” rated PG-13, 8:45 p.m.
  • Aug. 12: “Raya and the Last Dragon,” rated PG, 8:30 p.m.
  • Aug. 19: “Sing 2,” rated PG, 8:30 p.m.
  • Aug. 26: “Encanto,” rated PG, 8:15 p.m.

Attendees are welcome to bring dinner and snacks, or purchase novelty treats (i.e., popcorn, candy, etc.) on site. Blankets or chairs are encouraged. To allow more equitable viewing, chairs will be placed in one-half of the park viewing area and blankets in the other half.

This is a free event, with no registration required. Alcohol and pets are not allowed in the park.

Movies in the Park is sponsored by Camas United Methodist Church, PFLAG Southwest Chapter and Discovery Dental.
