A loaded tanker truck rolled over at the northbound onramp to Interstate 5 at Mill Plain Boulevard Monday, covering the roadway surface with black goo.

The rollover was reported about 5:45 p.m., according to the Vancouver Fire Department. When firefighters arrived they found a semi tractor-trailer rig with the tank trailer on its top, with black liquid pouring out.

Firefighters and a Department of Ecology team were able to stabilize the scene and identify the material, they said, but the type of material was not specified in the news release.

The westbound lanes of Mill Plain, as well as the onramp, were closed until about 11:30 p.m. between Fort Vancouver Way and the southbound offramp. Eastbound lanes were open.

The tractor remained upright at the entrance to the onramp, according to a witness. An ambulance responded but it is not known if there were any injuries.
