Raptors earn franchise's first win over Knights, 11-1

RIDGEFIELD 11, CORVALLIS 1

Three Ridgefield pitchers held Corvallis to seven hits as the Raptors beat the five-time defending champion Knights for the first time in franchise history. Ridgefield had been 0-14 against Corvallis dating to 2019.

KEY MOMENTS

Doyle Kane hit a two-out RBI single to put Ridgefield ahead 2-0 in the top of the first … Austin Caviness doubled to drive in Jacob Sharp to cap a two-run second inning and put Ridgefield ahead 4-0. … Stephen Espinoza’s RBI single started a five-run ninth inning as the Raptors broke the game open.

KEY PLAYERS

Ridgefield’s Charlie Royle pitched 3.2 innings of scoreless relief, striking out four and allowing two hits. … Raptors leadoff hitter Jacob Sharp went 4 for 5, scoring four runs and raising his batting average to .354. … Mikey Kane hit two doubles and drove in three runs for Ridgefield.
