The Vancouver-based M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust announced Thursday it had a record quarter and record year of giving.
In fall 2021, the trust approved 112 grants totaling $25.4 million, including 33 grants totaling $6.4 million given to Washington nonprofits.
For the year, the trust invested $110 million through more than 460 grants to organizations throughout the Northwest.
“These investments are a testament to the thoughtful legacy of Jack Murdock and our team at the Murdock Trust who have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic to support those who seek to serve the common good,” said Steve Moore, executive director. “Our team will continue to embrace optimism as we partner with those who serve the common good so that every individual, family and community has an opportunity to flourish and thrive.”
Grant making in 2021 marks the third year in a row the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust set a personal best for community investment, previously achieving new highs in 2019 at $57 million and 2020 at $75 million.
