WALNUT GROVE — Several businesses hosted special Giving Trees during the month of December to help support cats and kittens in local shelters as part of Furry Friends’ annual Giving Tree charity event.

Furry Friends, founded in 1999, strives to help cats in the Vancouver-Portland area receive the medical services and companionship they need. Volunteers rescue abused, abandoned or otherwise homeless cats and house them in a safe, healthy and socialized environment until they find their new forever homes.

This year’s participants included Yard ’N Garden Land, Keller Williams Premier Partners, MudBay Pet Supplies, and Claus Paws Animal Hospital. These businesses helped collect items that were requested on the Furry Friends’ wish list. Furry Friends was exceedingly grateful for the community’s kindness and generosity.
