Letter: We are not a racist nation

The Republican-sponsored “1776” project was to teach our children American history which has vanished from public schools. Upon his election Joe Biden canceled this and many freedoms that Donald Trump secured for America.

President Biden and Gov. Jay Inslee will oppress us with the “1619” project instead. This Marxist “race theory” rewrites America’s past, crumbles our foundation and kills free will. Will teachers drill into our children’s impressionable minds that every white boy and girl is inherently racist? Will you brainwash every Black boy and girl into hopeless victimhood and take “strive” from all children?

My hope is that teachers will prefer to be canceled rather than harm these sweet young minds. Today’s liberal teacher unions and school boards grow activists for their party’s personal use. Children need honesty from teachers, color blindness, life skills, math and American history. This should include slavery and the Democratic Party’s role in it. Parents stood up to the madness in both Virginias recently. Finish the job in November. Cancel the cancelers before they cancel us. We are not a racist nation. We are a lied-to nation.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
