DJ Edmondson scored eight of his 19 points in the fourth quarter as the Evergreen boys basketball team rallied to beat Auburn Mountainview 56-53 in a loser-out game in the 3A bi-district tournament.
“Chris Neal, our defensive assistant coach, made a great switchup in the fourth quarter that really got them on their heels,” Evergreen head coach Brett Henry said. “And it was just enough.”
Evergreen led by as many as nine points in the third quarter before Auburn Mountainview rallied to take a 44-40 lead into the fourth quarter.
Edmondson added five rebounds, four steals and four assists. Juelz Mendoza added 14 points for Evergreen, which will play at Capital of Olympia in another loser-out on Wednesday.
