Savea Mansfield just misses triple-double as Washougal girls rout Aberdeen

Savea Mansfield nearly missed a triple double as the Washougal girls basketball team responded from a sluggish first half to pull away from Aberdeen for a 69-28 win in a first-round game Friday at the 2A district tournament.

The Panthers took a 23-17 lead into after, after jumping out to a 13-2 lead.

But Washougal responded by outscoring the Bobcats 48-11 to advance the district semifinals where they will meet top-ranked Tumwater on Monday.

Mansfield led the way for the Panthers with 23 points, 10 steals and eight rebounds. She also added six assists.

Jaiden Bea also scored 23 points and added eight rebounds.
