Castle Rock boys hold off Elma in first round of 1A district basketball

Castle Rock fought off a scrappy Elma squad and picked up a road win, 57-43 on Thursday to begin the District 4 boys basketball tournament.

Adam Partridge led the Rockets with 16 points, Chance Naugle came off the bench to score 10 points and Trystin Marin chipped in nine, including a buzzer-beater in the first half that provided a spark for the visitors.

The win sets up a rematch between Castle Rock and King’s Way Christian on Saturday in Vancouver. The Trico League teams split the season series 1-1 with each team winning on its home floor.
