The Commission on Aging will hold a joint virtual meeting with the Clark County Council and present a summary of its ninth year of work at 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 16.
This year, the commission focused its efforts on the road to recovery from COVID-19. At each meeting, experts provided insights on a specific aspect of what we can learn from the COVID-19 pandemic, especially related to older adults, to better cope with the current situation and to make sure our community is better prepared for a future large-scale or global emergency.
Guest experts discussed different ways to connect with older adults, community support for caregivers, meeting the nutritional needs of our older community members, working to address housing and houselessness needs and emergency preparedness among others.
The commission will also outline their 2022 work program, which will focus on the need to connect people to resources, information and each other on a personal level.
