Letter: Suspend mask mandates

By Christine Nulph, Vancouver
Published: February 5, 2022, 6:00am

For almost two years, children have been forced to wear masks in order to be able to attend school. Now even Dr. Fauci has admitted cloth masks do not protect us from the omicron COVID-19 variant.

I have heard it explained that using these masks to prevent COVID-19 is like using a chain link fence to keep out mosquitoes. A logical mind would conclude that since wearing these masks is like wearing no mask at all, and no COVID-19 catastrophe has occurred while wearing said ineffective masks, that all mask mandates should be suspended immediately.

Let’s follow the science for once.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
