The city of Battle Ground is holding a virtual open house throughout February for residents to learn more about the city’s work to update its Parks, Recreation and Open Space Plan. The plan is expected to be finalized this year.
The new plan will identify a vision for the city’s parks and recreational resources over the next 20 years.
The open house follows an initial survey conducted in October which drew nearly 600 responses. According to the city, participants in the survey said parks, trails and opportunities for recreation are essential to quality of life. They also wanted to see a variety of park improvements and amenities with more walking and biking trails, additional picnic shelters and updated playgrounds with equipment for children of all abilities.
Results from the survey will be shared at the open house and additional input from community members as to which projects and programs should be prioritized will be accepted.
