Not a good weather forecast this week as the computer models earlier in the week were enthusiastic on bringing cold easterly winds sooner than today and colder than what we will see through Friday. Oh well, not an exact science, is it?
We had to endure those gray overcast skies longer and deal with the chilly high temperatures. On the flip side with cloudy skies at night we kept things above freezing and out of the bone-chilling 20s. In wind sheltered locations tonight and Friday night we should see lows dip into the 20s. And we will have the wind chill to deal with as well.
What’s next on the weather slate? Goodness, I wish I knew and could give you a stellar forecast. Forecast models are now all over the place. About half want to bring the cold air down from Canada and mix a little Pacific moisture for snow showers or at least a mix. The other half keeps us relatively warm, and any precipitation would be in the liquid form.
I get a little uneasy when I see arctic air gathering north across the border into southern Canada. Most of the time, as we know, it slides east of the Rockies. However, most computer models keep a portion of it in southwest British Columbia. That is about the only thing they agree on. Right now, I go with a chance of showers over the weekend and into Monday and Tuesday with snow levels in the foothills and higher.
