Skyview wrestler JJ Schoenlein is the The Columbian 2022-23 Week 12 high school athlete of the week.
Schoenlein received 534 of the 1,101 votes cast this week to win the honor.
Winners of the athlete-of-the-week may not be nominated again during the regular season, and no athlete may be nominated in consecutive weeks.
The athlete-of-the-week vote will go on hiatus for the winter break, returning the week of Jan. 2.

HADLEY JONES, WASHOUGAL GIRLS BASKETBALL: The senior pulled down 38 rebounds in two games and set the school single-game record with 21 rebounds against R.A. Long.
DAVID KILWAY, MOUNTAIN VIEW BOYS SWIMMING: The junior won the top point-scorer at the Mark Morris Sprint Pentathlon, winning the 25-yard butterfly and 25 breaststroke.
GRETCHEN LANE, PRAIRIE GYMNASTICS: The senior won the all-around title with a score of 36.6 in a six-team meet at VGSA, winning the beam and taking second on vault and bars.
BEAU SWETT, WOODLAND BOYS BASKETBALL: The senior scored 22 points in an overtime win over Columbia River and another 20 points in a win over La Center.
